It's about what she expected, if not quite this much direct attention. She brought a disruptive power to the playing field, and everyone wants a part of it. That's not arrogance, exactly - indeed, what's silly is that she ever believed that she could be independent. What's surprising is how fast they're moving, but then she should have considered that, too.
There are some out there who cannot abide a wild card to exist.
"Well, by technicality you are by nature of my affiliation, but I bear no personal ill will against you or your organization. I understand what you and all the rest are interested in. For the vast majority of people, they have one, two, or maybe three powers and that's it. Tinkers have versatility, but it's in one thing, and the results are predictable. Someone who can take a pen and just make up a power and a semi-intelligent entity to use it is new. You don't need me to tell you that, and I've certainly thought about the consequences."
She shifts her weight. "As you might know by now, though, and so I feel no particular worry discussing it, there are limitations. Distance, number, strength. If you're looking for someone to build you an army to bring down the current system, I'm not your girl."
